This CD includes two ragas, Multani and Bhupali. It contains a 15-page booklet describing how Nancy first came to India, the musical training system she encountered in India, her adaptations to the cello, a short history of dhrupad, the raagas and talas in this CD, and a description of the pakhawaj drum and percussionist Peter Fagiola.

Raag Multani is traditionally played in the late afternoon, just before sunset. The scale includes a mixture of dissonant and consonant intervals, creating a poignant melody. Nancy has derived her inspiration from the Multani composition in praise of the god Shiva, learned from her guru Ustad Z.M. Dagar. Lord Shiva is the god of creation and distruction, and is often pictured in deep meditation at the top of Mount Kailash. Here, Nancy brings out the power and concentration of Lord Shiva in her dynamic alap, jor and jhala. This mp3 file samples the jhala section. The jhala is followed by a composition in Chautal, a 12-beat rhythmic cycle, accompanied by the pakhawaj drum.

Tracks 3 and 4 present raag Bhupali, a sweet and gentle raag performed at night. It is based upon the major pentatonic scale, which gives Bhupali a rustic and playful mood. Nancy's use of harmonics in the alap are reminiscent of the sound of the Indian bamboo flute. The alap is followed by a lively piece composed by Nancy in jhaptal, a 10-beat rhythmic cycle, accompanied by the pakhawaj.
